About

One bloke.
Every build.

I'm Lachlan. Steddy Sites is just me, in Melbourne, building websites for the people who keep this city running: tradies, shop owners, cafes, clinics. No agency above me, no offshore team below me. The person you email is the person who builds your site.

I started this in 2026 because most small-business websites I saw were slow, dated, and built by someone who vanished after the invoice. The fix isn't complicated: build it fast, price it flat, put everything in writing, and answer your emails.

The training behind it: a double degree in commerce and computer science. One half knows how to make a website fast, the other knows what a slow one costs a business.

The rules I work by
Everything in writing

The quote, the scope, the delivery date. If it isn't written down, you don't owe it.

Scores you can check

Every speed claim comes from Google's own public test. Run it yourself, on any site, any time.

You own the lot

Domain, hosting, logins, the site itself. Handed over in plain English. Leave anytime.

No stock-photo sludge

Real photos of your real work, or clean typographic design until you have them. Never fake imagery.

No jargon

You'll never hear about synergies or solutions. You'll hear load times, costs and dates.

No lock-in, ever

No retainers, no hosting hostage-taking, no exit fees. If I'm good, you'll come back on your own.

Mobile before desktop

Your customers find you on the phone before the computer. Every build starts on the small screen.

Tested before handover

Speed, forms, phones, tablets: checked before you're asked to approve anything.

Same city, same hours

Melbourne based, Melbourne clients. Questions get answered in your working day, not overnight.

Small on purpose

A few builds at a time, done properly. That's what keeps delivery at about a week.

Why one person is a feature

With an agency, your job gets handed down a chain: account manager, designer, developer, whoever's cheapest this month. Things get lost at every link. Here the chain has one link. I scope it, I build it, I test it on the same phone you'll be answering, and when you call about it in six months, the person who picks up wrote every line.

The trade-off is honest: I only take a few builds at a time. That's what keeps delivery at about a week and quality where I can put my name on it.

No handoffs. The builder is the business.
